महालक्ष्मी व्रत का उपशीर्षक: "धन, समृद्धि और सौभाग्य की देवी का पावन व्रत

This fast is observed only on the day of Radhashtami. This fast continues for 16 days. Urge the following mantra-
Karshiyesha Mahalakshmi vratate tatvaparayana.

law of fasting
Take a sixteen wire string and tie sixteen knots in it. Rub a knot of turmeric and color the thread. Tie the string around your wrist. This fast continues till Ashwin Krishna Ashtami. After completion of the fast, make a mandap with cloth. Place the idol of Goddess Lakshmi in it. Bathe the idol with Panchamrit. Perform worship in sixteen ways. At night, offer prayers to the stars towards the earth and pray to Goddess Lakshmi.
The fasting women should feed the Brahmins. Have a havan performed by them and offer kheer as an offering. Keep sandalwood, palm leaf, flower garland, Akshat, Durva, red thread, betel nut, coconut and various types of things in the new soup in sixteen numbers. Then cover the new soup and dedicate it to Goddess Lakshmi after reciting the following mantra.
Kshirodarnavasambhuta Lakshmischandrashodara.
Vratenanen satisfaction bhava bhartovpuballabha ॥
Meaning- May Lakshmi, Moon's sister, Shri Vishnuvallabha, Mahalakshmi, who appeared in the ocean of milk, be satisfied with this fast.
After this, feed food to four Brahmins and sixteen Brahmins and send them off after giving Dakshina. Then sit at home and eat your meal yourself. Those who fast in this way, after enjoying happiness in this world, they enjoy happiness in Lakshmi Lok for a long time.
Story of Mahalakshmi fast
In ancient times, a poor Brahmin lived in a village. He used to regularly go to the temple of Vishnu in the forest and worship. Seeing his worship, God was pleased and appeared to him in person. God told him the way to get Lakshmi that a woman comes in front of the temple to offer cakes. Come morning, hold her and insist her to come to your house and do not let her go until she is ready to come and live with you.
She is my wife Lakshmi. As soon as he comes to your house, your house will be filled with wealth. Saying this, Lord Vishnu disappeared and the Brahmin returned to his home.
The next day he went and sat in front of the temple at four in the morning. When Lakshmi ji came to serve the cakes, the Brahmin caught her and started requesting her to go to his home and stay there. Lakshmi ji understood that all this was a trick of Vishnu ji. Then Lakshmi ji said - "You, along with your wife, fast for me for sixteen days. Then on the sixteenth day, worship the moon at night and call me in the north direction. Then your wish will be fulfilled." The Brahmin did the same.
Lakshmi ji fulfilled her promise when she worshiped the moon at night and shouted in the north direction.
Thus, this fast is famous by the name of Mahalakshmi, O Lakshmi ji! Just like you came to a Brahmin's house, come to everyone's house.
