In olden times there was a king named Rantidev. There lived a Brahmin in his kingdom whose name was Dharmaketu.
Dharmaketu had two wives. One was named Sushila and the other was named Chanchalta. There was a great difference in the thoughts and behavior of both wives. Sushila was of a religious nature and kept on fasting, worshiping. On the contrary, playfulness was absorbed in indulgence and luxury. She used to pay more attention to the make-up of the body. He had nothing to do with any fasting or worship.
After a few days, both the wives of Dharmaketu had children. Sushila had a daughter and Chanchalata gave birth to a son. Chanchalta used to say to Sushila- "Sushila, you have dried up your body by fasting so much, yet you have a girl. I did not do any fasting or worship, yet gave birth to a son."
Sushila kept listening for a few days. But when it became too much, he felt very sad. He worshiped Ganesha and shared his spirit with his Lord Ganesha and started worshiping more hard and heart. When Ganesha was pleased, by his grace, precious pearls and corals started coming out of the mouth of Sushila's daughter. She also gave birth to a beautiful son.
When Sushila Karma woke up, fortunately, there was jealousy in Chanchal's heart. He dropped Sushila's daughter in the well. But Sushila was blessed by Vinayak Ganesh ji. Nothing happened to her daughter and she was safely pulled out of the well. Protected them from every obstacle, just as Lord Vighnaharta hare all the troubles of both mother and daughter, in the same way we are also green.
