A long time ago, a moneylender had seven sons and one sister got him done. All the seven brothers loved their sister very much. Even they used to feed him first and then eat them himself. Once his sister had come to her maternal home from her in-laws' house.
In the evening when the brother came home after closing his business, he saw that his sister was very distraught. All the brothers sat down to eat food and started urging their sister to eat as well, but the sister told that today she has a waterless fast of Karva Chauth and that food can be eaten only after seeing the moon and giving it Arghya. Since the moon has not yet come out, she is troubled by hunger and thirst.
The youngest brother does not see the condition of his sister and he lights a lamp on a distant Peepal tree and puts it in the sieve. When viewed from a distance, it appears as if the moon of Chaturthi is rising.
After this the brother tells his sister that the moon has come out, you can have food after offering him Arghya. The sister climbs the stairs with joy and sees the moon, offers her arghya and sits down to eat.
When she puts the first piece in her mouth, she sneezes. When she puts the second piece, the hair comes out in it and as soon as she tries to put the third piece in her mouth, she gets the news of her husband's death. She gets shocked.
His sister-in-law informs him of the truth as to why this happened to him. The deities are angry with her for breaking the Karva Chauth fast in the wrong way and they have done so. After knowing the truth, Karva decides that she will not allow her husband to be cremated and will revive him with her chastity. She sits near the dead body of her husband for a whole year. takes care of her. She keeps on collecting the needle-like grass growing on top of it.
After a year, the day of Karva Chauth comes again. All his sisters-in-law keep the fast of Karva Chauth. When the sisters-in-law come to seek her blessings, she urges each sister-in-law to say 'Take yum sui, give me piya sui de, make me like you a married woman', but every time the sister-in-law goes on asking her to request the next sister-in-law. Is.
Thus, when the sixth-ranked sister-in-law comes, Karva repeats the same thing to her. This sister-in-law tells him that since his fast was broken because of the youngest brother, his wife has the power to bring your husband back to life, so when he comes you grab him and wait until he is your husband. Don't make him alive, don't leave him. Saying this she leaves.
Lastly comes the younger sister-in-law. Karva urges her to become a married woman too, but she starts hesitating. Seeing this, she grabs them tightly and asks her to bring her Suhag alive. Her Sister-in-law tries to get rid of him, scolds, but does not leave Karva.
In the end, seeing her penance, the sister-in-law breaks down and cuts off her little finger and pours the nectar from it into her husband's mouth. Karva's husband immediately gets up saying Shri Ganesh-Sri Ganesh. In this way, by the grace of the Lord, Karva gets her honeymoon back through her younger sister-in-law.
