There lived a Brahmin in a town, her husband had passed away. There was nothing left in her house, so in the morning she used to go out with her son to beg. In this way she used to feed herself and her son. One day while coming home, Brahmini found a child in an injured condition, Brahmini brought him to her house. The boy was the prince of Vidarbha, the enemy soldiers attacked his kingdom and captured his father by taking him captive, so he was just struggling. The prince started living with the Brahmin-son in the Brahmin's house. One day a Gandharva girl named Anshumati saw the prince and was fascinated by him. The next day she brought her parents to meet the prince. After a few days, Lord Shankar ordered Anshumati's parents in a dream that the prince and Anshumati should be married, they did so. That widow Brahmini used to observe Pradosh fast. The effect of his Pradosh fast was that the prince, with the help of Gandharvaraj's army, drove away the enemies from Vidarbha and regained his father's kingdom, and started living a happy life. The prince made the son of a brahmin as his prime minister. Just as the days of a prince and a Brahmin son have been improved by the grace of Lord Shankar due to the Pradosh fast of a Brahmin, similarly Lord Shankar maintains his blessings on all his devotees and everyone's day is decorated.
