It is about the time when the golden age was going on. There was a king. The king's name was Makardhwaj. Makardhwaj was a king of too many religious tendencies and used to follow his subjects like his own children. Therefore, the people in his kingdom were completely happy and satisfied, but the king had great affection for Muni Yajnavalkya. With his blessings, the king got a son.
Although the owner of the state was Makardhwaj, the administration was run by a trusted minister. The minister's name was Dharampal. Dharmapala had five married sons. The daughter-in-law of the youngest son was a devotee of Ganesha and used to worship him. She also used to fast on Ganesh Chauth. The mother-in-law did not like the daughter-in-law's devotion to Ganesha. Don't know why, she used to suspect that this daughter-in-law is doing sorcery on us.
Mother-in-law took many measures to stop Ganesh worship by daughter-in-law but none of them was successful. The daughter-in-law had full faith in Ganesh Ji, so she kept on worshiping him with faith.
Ganesh ji knew that the mother-in-law keeps harassing her daughter-in-law because of worshiping her, so teaching her a lesson (tasting the fun) made the son of the king disappear. What was it then - there was a ruckus. Suspicion of missing the king's son started being revealed to the mother-in-law, the mother-in-law's concern started increasing. The younger daughter-in-law, holding the feet of the mother-in-law, said, "Mother, you worship Ganesha, he is the destroyer of obstacles, he will remove your sorrow."
Mother-in-law worshiped Ganesha with daughter-in-law. Ganapati was pleased and gave them to the king's son. The mother-in-law, who used to be unhappy with the daughter-in-law, became happy and at the same time started worshiping Ganesha.
