This is the last Jyotirlinga out of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Shiva. It is located near Verul village, 12 miles away from Daulatabad in Maharashtra state. This story is described in the Puranas for this Jyotirlinga. Sudharma, a very brilliant Taponishat Brahmin, lived near Devgiriparvat in the south country. His wife's name was Sudeha. These two loved each other very much. They had no children. It was revealed by astrological calculations that Sudeha could not get pregnant. But still, she wanted a child. Then Sudeha asked her husband i.e. Sudharma to marry her younger sister again. Sudharma did not agree to this at first, but Sudeha's repeated stubbornness made Sudharma bow down.
